It is said that attempts to maximizing the effectiveness of the breath
should include expanding the exhale. Here is a simple way to apply this:
assume a comfortable position either seated or lying down on the back. Let
your body relax as you focus on your breath. At first, don’t seek to change
anything. After a while, however, start counting the duration of your
breaths, particularly the inhalations. Gradually, begin extending the length
of your exhalations to double the count of your inhalations. For example, if
you inhaled to the count of three, try to exhale over a full six counts.
Keep this up for few minutes, long enough to feel your body relax very
thoroughly. Õ
