Celebrate the fleeting window of explosive fall color while reducing your
stress using this quick autumnal yoga break: The next time you have 20
minutes to spare, pack a thermos with a soothing hot beverage of your
choice, head out to a natural area, have a seat at a park bench, and relax.
Sip your coffee or tea, take in the scenery. Watch. Listen. Inhale. After a
couple of minutes of resting, do 1-3 simple yoga poses (one of our upcoming
videos features “Park Bench Yoga” if you need creative help), focusing more
on your breathing and mindfulness than on forcing a dramatic stretch.
Afterwards, resume sipping your coffee, enjoying the additional release of
stress provided by the yoga. When you’re about ready to leave, close your
eyes, and take one more long, slow, deep breath in. You’ll approach the rest
